Job Description

Bridgemead Consulting is recruiting for the position of a web designer on behalf of our client; a branding and digital creative agency. We are looking for a web designer who will be responsible for developing new websites and enhancing our client’s existing Web properties. He/She will work closely with creative directors, project managers, strategists and other design team members to develop specifications and make adjustments regarding the use of new and emerging Web technologies. As a website designer, your role shall encompass you creating and maintaining functional, attractive websites that are clean, modern, and responsive with excellent navigational structures and detailed linking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • •Establish design guidelines, standards and best practice.
  • •Maintain the appearance of websites by enforcing content standards.
  • •Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with branding for clients.
  • •Maintain and update all plugins for websites.
  • •Implement and maintain high quality SEO policies and incorporate them with content produced for the website.
  • •Meet with clients to discuss requirements and/or project progress.
  • •Create mock-ups for proposed project pages and update them as needed.
  • •Other responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor.
Key Skills & Competency:
Advanced Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator Skills. 5
Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, JQuery and Java Script. 4
Good understanding of content management system, including WordPress, Squarespace etc. 4
Good understanding of Search Engine Optimization principles. 4
Up to date experience with international web protocols, standards and technologies. 4
Proficient understanding of cross browser compatibility issues. 5
Creative and open to new idea. 4
Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques. 4
Excellent communication skills. 3
Education & Experience

Academic Qualification (s)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, graphic design, or any related field.

Years of Experience

Three (3) years experience in designing with WordPress and Shopify

Other experience

Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL. A substantial portfolio with no less than two live functional sites is an added value.
